Lake Baccarac

“Trophy Fishing par excellence”

There have been a number of Mexico bass fishing lakes to come and go over the years. But one that continues to amaze anglers with its longevity of life and tremendous fishing reports is 30,000-acre Lake Baccarac. Like the Energizer bunny, Lake Baccarac just keeps going, going and going.

Lake Baccarac was stocked in 1978 with a strain of Florida large mouth bass. The first fishing season was beyond most anglers dreams and the lake has been improving every year. The lake is approximately 25 miles long and 5 miles wide, nestled among green-forested mountain peaks. The New Pro Bass Adventures Lodge is located on a cliff overlooking Lake Baccarac. Guest relax in air conditioning rooms with a patio area where they gather for margaritas after a successful day of fishing. All rooms have hot and cold running water and good showers along with ice and purified water. Along with your guide, all boats are equipped with swivel seats, 60 hp motors, front and rear trolling motors and depth finders for anglers fishing Lake Baccarac.

Lake Baccarac started out as an ideal hotspot for catching numbers of quality bass, however over the last two decades Lake Baccarac has evolved into one of the top spots in the world for lunkers in excess of 10 pounds. During June, 2012 in three days of fishing a friend of mine and I landed 83 bass over 8 pounds each. Twenty five of the lunkers were between 10 and 13 pounds.

With a 19 and a 19.1 pounder having being caught, many view Lake Baccarac a viable candidate to produce the new world record largemouth. Lake Baccarac certainly has the forage base and structure to grow one. There are nearly 300 rocky points, numerous deep coves and literally dozens of main lake humps worthy of a cast or two when you are Mexico bass fishing on Lake Baccarac.
