Texas Trophy Whitetail Hunting
Trophy Whitetail hunts in Texas are primarily sold based on the gross
Boone & Crockett score of the deer. The higher the trophy score, the higher
the price. Using Quality Deer Management practices to manage a herd delivers
a quality hunting experience with lots of big trophy whitetail deer. Your
personal guide will assist you in aging & scoring the many trophy whitetail
bucks that you will see during a hunt that meets our harvest criteria & your
budget.
Texas has the largest population of whitetails in the country estimated
at 4.5 million deer. The South Texas habitat consists of a wide variety of
hardy dense brush and trees that all have thorns with plenty things that
will bite you like rattle snakes, javelina, wild hogs, mountain lions, &
coyotes. It is necessary to hunt from 3 person elevated stands overlooking
travel routes, food plots, & feeders as these trophy whitetails are
extremely high strung when compared to big game out west and there is
virtually no way to glass, spot, & stalk them in South Texas.
There is no minimum age when hunting with an adult, no units, no tag
draws or waiting list, and you can even buy your non-resident $300 TPWD
hunting license at the ranch.
