Trip Logistics

We have set up a routine that we try to follow for each of our fishing parties, this routine may vary depending on the flight itinerary, but always is pretty much the same. We show you as follow how the travel logistics works in order to help you get to Venezuela having our lodges as your final destination.

Please read carefully below:

  1. First of all, we have to establish first contact via e-mail. You will let us know when, how many days and how many anglers would like to fish. Then we check for space availability. After we define the  the date of the trip and the numbers of days of fishing, we start to set up the flight itinerary. Your local travel agency will have to book your international and domestic flight tickets (including domestic flights in  Venezuela), if your local travel agent has any problems handling domestic flight reservations for Venezuela, we can take care of it. We will handle the rest in Venezuela; booking domestic flight (if needed), hotel reservations, (if needed), transfer help at airports, transport to the lodge, etc. A full information document will be provided to you prior to the trip in order to make everything very clear and to help you understand how to proceed.
  2. Once Step One is completed all we have to do is wait for the day of the trip. After departing your point of origin, you will arrive in Caracas. After clearing customs, you will be met by our Lodge's transfer agency, Grand Slam. They will transfer you (and your group) to Caracas Hotel for overnight or to the nearest domestic airport for a commercial jet flight to Puerto Ordaz or Ciudad Bolivar (This will depend on your itinerary). If you were to overnight at Caracas, Grand Slam staff will pick you up the next day to transfer you again to the domestic airport to take your flight to  Puerto Ordaz to connect with charter flight to any of our lodges. If you have to spend an overnight at Puerto Ordaz or Ciudad Bolivar, our staff will take you to a nearby hotel (reservations previously arranged by us) and pick you up the next day to transfer you again to the domestic airport in order to take your charter flight to the Lodge.
  3. At your arrival at the lodge, you will be met by the host and crew. They will give you a briefing about the lodge, show you to your accommodations and help you get ready to fish.
  4. The day of your trip back home, you will take again a charter flight early in the morning from the lodge to Puerto Ordaz, then you will connect with a domestic flight to Caracas. Once in Caracas, Grand Slam staff will meet you again to take you to the international airport, where they will help you check with your international airline.
