to the south, many tourist can fly to Caracas making easy connections from
the East, Central and the West coast of the United States. Usually Miami,
Florida is the main connection point with Venezuela. Caracas is also a

Caracas City is the capital of Venezuela. Most travel agents refer to La
Guaira City as Caracas City. The main international airport is located in La
Guaira City, from there you take your Venezuelan domestic flight to Puerto
Ordaz or Ciudad Bolivar in order to be transferred to Uraima Falls.
Located 550 miles southeast of Caracas, Uraima Falls Lodge is situated on
an island at the base of Uraima Falls on the Paragua River in the State of
Bolivar, in the Eastern Venezuelan highlands, the home of the biggest
Payaras in the world. The Paragua river flows northward and joins the Caroni
on its way to forming Lake Guri. Located 500 miles southeast of Caracas,
Lake Guri is a 2,000 square mile impoundment in the State of Bolivar. This
giant lake ranges from its source in the southern jungle regions to the
hydroelectric dam defining its northern limits in the rolling savannahs of
the state. In the fish-laden southern reaches, Guri is generally 10 feet in
depth and rarely exceeds 30 feet. The flooded jungle provides endless
structure-filled flats, lagoons and coves, perfect territory of the the
peacock bass. Below there is the map of the Bolivar State, there is a zoom
