Midnight Sun was established in 1996 and offers a truly unique fishing
adventure. Your trip with us takes place aboard our custom-built houseboat,
located on the back sloughs of the mighty Yukon River of Western Alaska. You
will be roughly 310 miles due West of Anchorage, Alaska. This two-hundred
mile long Yukon tributary provides the perfect environment for growing huge
Alaskan pike ... cool, slow-moving water; a food source of unlimited
quantity; and the time for the pike to grow old and fat - ranging anywhere
from 10 pounds to 25 pounds and even the occasional 40 pound monster! These
big fish are up to twenty plus years old. With little competition from other
anglers, these big pike are readily attainable. Being centrally located
between the lower Yukon and Kuskokwim rivers, a short float plane ride
provides endless opportunities for Alaska's mighty Northern Pike and
Sheefish. There are no Salmon or other species we catch on the back sloughs
of the Yukon. The Salmon and other species are the Kuskokwim drainage, the
Aniak and the Salmon.
We also offer float tours and Jet boat fishing adventures on the Aniak
River. The Aniak River is one of Alaska's best kept secrets and hosts one of
the top multi-species trophy fisheries in Alaska. Trophy sized Kings,
Silvers, Rainbows and Char headline this rarely traveled drainage. Flowing
through 80 miles of untouched wilderness and wildlife habitat, the Aniak
River, is the essence of remote Alaskan fishing. Our experienced and
professional guides will flawlessly row rafts through narrow log jams, land
fish, pitch tents and show you their favorite knots. Rib-eye steaks will
sizzle, as you grab your towel, for a hot shower, off your cot. Sit by the
crackling fire and share fish stories. Your only priority is to fish until
dark.
